Drive in or watch the Chatham 250 Carvana/Parade!
On Saturday, October 23rd, 2021, at 2pm in Siler City, the Chatham 250 celebration will be coming to a cheerful close with the Chatham 250 Parade/Caravana. Chatham 250 welcomes all community members, business, and organizations to either participate in or watch the parade in celebration of Chatham County.

Go for a Story Walk at a Chatham County Park
Coming in September 2021! The Mobile Story Walk will feature the children's book Poet: The Remarkable Story of George Moses Horton by Don Tate. Chatham County Mobile Story Walk will be at the following Parks during these dates:

Attend Day of the Book/Dia de los Libros
Chatham County Partnership for Children will host the 2021 Day of the Books / El Día de los Libros as a drive-thru event on Saturday, May 1 from 10am-2pm! We will have live, outdoors, and socially-distanced arts performances and bilingual book readings! FREE bilingual books will be given away along with a take-away picnic lunch for families as they exit the drive-through event. Masks will be required for entry for those ages 5 and older.

Silk Hope Old Fashioned Farmers Day
The Silk Hope Old Fashioned Farmers Day event, hosted by the Silk Hope Ruritan’s Club, is held every Labor Day weekend at the Farm Heritage Theme Park in Silk Hope. The event features exhibits, activities, and good food.

Participate in Junteenth celebrations
Chatham Organizing for Racial Equity (CORE) in partnership with the Chatham County Public Health Department will be hosting Chatham’s 4th annual Juneteenth celebrations on Saturday, June 19th, 2021 at the Chatham County fairground. This year our events will consist of a lecture series preceding the event, and a daytime celebration that includes performers and business exhibits. All events will be live-streamed.
