Participate in the Chatham 250 Sidewalk Chalk Festival
On Saturday, September 11th, 2021, express your creativity by joining the Chatham 250 Sidewalk Chalk Festival. Community Members are welcome to participate on site at the Park at Briar Chapel or send in a photo of their masterpiece that they created at their own home. The competition will be split into age divisions and the winner will be selected by a panel of judges.

Since 1982, Clyde Jones has been making his chainsaw creations which are now displayed in Clyde Jones’ Critter Crossing in Bynum.

With COVID-19 still afoot, Chatham Arts Council is tweaking their 19th annual ClydeFEST event. Many of you know all about our traditional old-school kids’ arts carnival celebrating folk artist Clyde Jones. And if you don’t, that’s ok too, because this year, it will look a little different. We are spreading the joy of ClydeFEST throughout Chatham County in COVID-safe ways to bring you a series of small, socially distanced events we are calling ClydeFEST in the Wild.

Attend the Hoppin' John Fiddlers’ Convention
Chatham County's take on this NC Tradition! Hoppin' John Fiddlers’ Convention is all about string band music, featuring band, instrument and dance contests, square dances, musician showcases and workshops, craft vendors, food, camping and other family activities, all happening in a beautiful 72-acre farm setting. Previous years have featured a cook-off and cake walk as well, but we may be putting those on hiatus, depending on covid safety.

Go to the "Come Out and Play" Sculpture Show
The Come Out and Play Sculpture Show is an annual outdoor sculpture show featuring dozens of artists who create in a myriad of media. The event takes place on a lovely 17-acre homestead and much of the artists’ work is for sale. Each reception is filled with amazing art, free food provided by the artists and the hosts, and live music provided by the North Carolina Songwriters Co-op.
